No other company offers as much protection as the personal protective clothing from Carhartt. Carhartt intentionally designs their workwear to help protect workers such as welders and fitters from being burn from the sparks of a welding machine or of a cutting torch. They also provide a high quality line of workwear for other employees in other work areas, such as painting and sandblasting.
Carhartt's flame resistant clothing is treated with chemicals especially made to self extinguish as soon as the source of the fire has been moved away. All the material that Carhartt uses meets the OSHA and ASTM standards NFPA-70E, and is still assembled so that clothing is durable and comfortable. There are certain things a person needs to know about how to take care of Carhartt flame resistant clothing. For any quilt lined item you should never dry clean them, and never use any type of bleach or softeners, although the material fields like it has starch in it, that is really the chemicals that were used when the material were treated, and you should never try to replace that stiffness with starch. When you are washing the items you should use a low heat (below 140 degrees). The same washing instructions are used for Twill lined, or unlined clothing as well, with the exception that these types of flame resistant clothing cannot exceed temperatures of 165 degrees.
Many companies require their employees to wear reflective clothing (high visibility). This line of clothing is designed with 3M Scotchlite Reflective Material. This material meets all the specifications and requirements as stated in ANSVISEA 107-2004. This line includes T-shirts, color enhanced shirts, sweatshirts, rainwear, and headgear. You do have to know how to take care of these fabrics however, in order to make them last longer, but to insure the quality of these items it is recommended that they should not be washed more than 25 times.
Carhartt have flame resistant Denim Jeans with 19" leg openings making them easy to cover your boots. These Jeans meet the NFPA70E code.
Carhartt's weatherware features a waterproof jacket with a breathable lining that allows the heat to escape, and the outer material is water repellant, the cuffs are finished with storm flaps, as is the two-way zipper.
For the Carhartt summerwear line, you have clothes for both men and women, from T-shirts to shorts, to blouses and gloves, and they all comply with the Carhartt care and quality. And the Carhartt wet ware offers T-shirts that control the moisture of the weather as well as the perspiration of your body; they have an anti-odor property material, and are as durable as they are lightweight. The #K204 lines of T-shirts have a pocket on the left hand side. Carhartt also has a fantastic winter work dry line, which includes thermal shirts and thermal bottoms; you can also purchase a heavy weight thermal mock jacket that is sure to keep anyone warm on those cold days out in the weather.
